Thank you again for being part of Session 1. Even though the technology had other plans for us, the way everyone adapted, stayed patient, and still showed up was, in itself, a leadership lesson in real time.
Leadership is not what happens when everything goes smoothly.
Leadership is who we become when things don't go according to plan — and we decide to keep going anyway.
That's the heart of this journey.
When most people hear leadership, they think position, job title, seniority, authority. But leadership is not a role you are given — it's a responsibility you accept.
Leadership begins the moment you take responsibility for an outcome.
The moment you say:
"I'll handle this."
"I will deliver this."
"I will make this happen."
Leadership has started — because now you are accountable for a result.
But the moment we commit to an outcome, resistance also shows up:
This resistance is normal. It's part of the journey.
The real question is:
Is my leadership capacity strong enough to overcome the resistance required to achieve the outcome?
If yes — the result happens.
If not — progress stalls.
The good news?
Your leadership capacity is not fixed. It can grow.
Just like muscle, it strengthens with intentional practice.
Over these five weeks, we are traveling a clearly defined path — a journey of expanding your capacity to lead, influence, and create meaningful results.
This journey unfolds in four development stages:
1. Self-Mastery
Understanding, managing, and leading yourself — your habits, emotions, mindset, discipline, strengths, and blind spots.
2. Relational Influence
Your ability to connect, communicate, inspire, influence, and navigate relationships and interactions with others.
3. Strategic Execution
Turning vision into results — planning, problem-solving, organizing, prioritising, and delivering outcomes consistently.
4. Organisational Impact
Leading beyond yourself — shaping culture, aligning people to purpose, developing others, and multiplying leadership.
Each of us is somewhere along this journey — and we all have a next step.
There is no comparison.
There is only growth.
I shared the story of how my understanding of leadership first started — not in a corporate setting, but back in university when I had a vision to build something called Music House.
I had no title.
No authority.
Just a dream — and people I needed to influence to bring that dream to life.
And I made mistakes. Many.
But it was through those challenges that I discovered:
This is not theory for me — it is lived practice.
This week is about awareness.
Where are you on the journey?
Take a moment to reflect:
Which stage feels most like where I am right now?
Which stage do I feel called to develop next?
What is currently resisting my growth?
There are no wrong answers — only starting points.
To support your reflection, I am giving you access to the Leadership Growth Journey Assessment.
This assessment will help you:
